The concert “Freddie Mercury in Rock-Opera Style” presents songs by the Queen frontman, arranged for opera singers and a string quartet. The performers are musicians from the Italian association Opera da Camera di Roma, and the pieces are performed in an intimate, acoustic style by candlelight.
Concerts in this series take place in historic halls and palaces, recalling nineteenth-century salon concerts. Alongside Mercury's songs, the program includes excerpts from G. F. Handel's works and traditional Indian music arranged for string quartet. The project premiered in 2013 at the Słowacki Theatre in Kraków, and in 2025 it is part of a European tour that includes Berlin, Rome, Paris, Milan, Prague, and Vienna.
