The Royal Classical Ballet, a Polish ballet company, will perform “The Nutcracker” on December 17, 2026, at 4:30 PM at Nowa Dekadencja, Szczecin Cultural Centre (Scena Dekadencja), in Szczecin. Set to Piotr Czajkowski's music, the ballet tells a story of good triumphing over evil and is aimed at both children and adults.
The story begins on Christmas Eve, when young Clara receives a wooden nutcracker under the Christmas tree. She adores the toy, though no one else sees anything special in it. As every year, the family celebrates the anticipation of the birth of the Baby Jesus. When night falls, Clara falls asleep in an armchair.
The plot unfolds in two acts. In the first, the Nutcracker comes to life and saves Clara from an attack by the mouse army and its King. Commanding her brother's tin soldiers, he fights a fierce battle that nearly costs him his life. Clara comes to his aid just in time and is rewarded by the Snow Queen.
In the second act, the Nutcracker transforms into a prince and takes Clara to the Land of Sweets, passing through the Kingdom of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets. Along the way, the girl meets the Sugar Plum Fairy and characters who dance the Spanish flamenco, a Russian dance, a Chinese dance, and an Oriental dance. In the capital, she is welcomed like a princess and invited to a ball in the palace, where she waltzes with the prince amid flower garlands. At midnight everything vanishes, and Clara wakes in the armchair, holding the wooden toy in her arms.
The second act also features flamenco, a traditional Russian dance, a Chinese dance, and an Oriental dance, and along the way Clara meets mysterious characters from different lands. The performance by the Royal Classical Ballet includes costumes, choreography, and Piotr Czajkowski's music.
Clara and the Nutcracker set out on a journey through the Kingdom of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets to defeat the Mouse King and free the Land of Sweets. When everyone falls asleep, the toy comes to life, and the Nutcracker becomes a prince. Clara also meets the fighting mio
