Greek Catholic church in a former hospital chapel of the early 20th century, blessed in 1996, with a classicising façade and a bell turret.
The Church of the Protection of the Mother of God in Kołobrzeg is a Greek Catholic church of the Koszalin deanery of the Wrocław-Koszalin Eparchy. The building was erected at the beginning of the 20th century as a hospital chapel, and was blessed as a church on 25 May 1996. Since 2014 it has been listed in the municipal register of monuments of Kołobrzeg.
In the 1990s the building was extended with a chancel closed on five sides and two side rooms in the south-western part. Despite the extension it has kept a legible original form and the layout of the façade.
The main part is a plastered chapel of compact form, on a rectangular plan set perpendicular to the Parsęta River, with two annexes by the longer sides and a roof with three slopes. The façade has the historicising form of a classical temple: four pilasters, an entablature and a flat tympanum. The central entrance is crowned by an arched fanlight, and above the cornice there is a semicircular window. Above the nave rises an octagonal bell turret with an onion-shaped roof. The roofs are covered with copper sheet.
Nearby stand the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Co-Cathedral Basilica.
