Lobelia lake with a bathing area by the village of Porost, lying in a Natura 2000 area.
Chlewo is a lobelia lake in the Drawsko Lakeland, in Bobolice municipality, with the village of Porost on its shore. It has an area of about 54 hectares, and the water is considered oligotrophic, that is, poor in nutrients.
The greatest depth is 12 metres, the average 6.2 metres, and the length of the shoreline is about 5.5 kilometres. The body of water consists of two clearly distinct parts. Reed vegetation is sparse, and the most reeds grow in the northern part. The lake lies within the Natura 2000 area "Bobolickie Jeziora Lobeliowe", which you can read about in the entry on the Bobolice lobelia lakes. The lake is also sometimes called Chlewo Wielkie, Chlewienko or Jezioro Spokojne.
The Porost bathing area operates on the lake, designated according to the rules of the Bathing Water Directive. Fisheries are managed by the Polish Angling Association, Koszalin District. According to Wikipedia, vendace, roach, perch, pike and tench were caught here.
