A parish church in Biesiekierz with Gothic boulder walls, an Early Baroque altar and a Gothic bell.
The Church of Christ the King in Biesiekierz is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Mielno deanery. Wikipedia dates it to the 14th century and describes it as Gothic, while the heritage register gives the 17th century and the Baroque style. 200 metres away stands the palace in Biesiekierz.
It is a brick, single-nave, orientated church on a rectangular plan, with a chancel closed on three sides and buttresses. In the second half of the 18th century and in the 19th century it was rebuilt, and the original Gothic character was obscured. Traces of the old walls, in the form of irregularly placed boulders, can be seen in the west, north and south walls of the nave. A brick tower was added in the mid-19th century.
Inside, under a wooden ceiling, an Early Baroque altar from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries has survived, together with a 17th-century font, an 18th-century pulpit, two Baroque sculptures and a Gothic bell.
