A Gothic branch church from the 15th century in Marszewo, with a wooden tower and surviving fragments of stained glass with coats of arms.
The Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Marszewo is a Gothic building from the 15th century, partly rebuilt in the 18th century. It is a branch church of the parish of St Catherine in Goleniów and lies in Goleniów municipality. The heritage register dates it to the turn of the 16th century.
The oriented hall church was built of stone on a rectangular plan, with a chancel closed on three sides at the east end. The Gothic portal is in the south elevation. In the 18th century the windows were rebuilt, but in the south wall the bricked-up traces of two original Gothic windows can be seen. A wooden timber-framed tower, boarded and topped with an octagonal spire, was added on the west side.
Of the former furnishings a stone slab set into the altar and two fragments of window stained glass with coats of arms have survived. The church was consecrated as a Catholic one on 19 March 1946.
It is a few kilometres from here to Goleniów, where the Church of St Catherine stands, to which this branch church belongs.
