Neo-Romanesque church of granite and brick from 1847, a former chapel and mausoleum of the von Kleist family, with a plaque honouring Bonhoeffer.
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Kikowo was built in 1847 as a chapel and mausoleum of the von Kleist family. Today it is a Roman Catholic filial church of the parish of Our Lady Help of Christians in Tychowo. The village lies in Tychowo municipality, in Białogard County.
It is a Neo-Romanesque building of brick and granite, with a single nave, a semicircular apse and a small tower, under which the clock mechanism was housed. Inside are a four-voice organ built by the Danish organ builder Emil Nielsen and underground burial crypts, now empty. Until 1999 there was a cemetery behind the church, and today a symbolic grave of the buried villagers stands there. By the entrance portal hangs a plaque in Polish and German honouring the pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who preached sermons in this church. The church has been in the heritage register since 1994.
