A Renaissance church from around 1600 with a Renaissance gable and portal, an organ of 1894 and a churchyard.
The Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Wojtaszyce is a Renaissance church from the early 17th century, built of fieldstone and brick, with a Renaissance gable, portal and an organ of 1894.
The church was built just after 1600, and the heritage register gives the dating of 1600 and the Renaissance style. It is a single-nave building on a rectangular plan; already when the nave was being built, a tower and a bell tower were planned. The most valuable external element is the Renaissance gable of plastered brick, and the south façade has a Renaissance portal. The gabled roof is covered with ceramic tiles, and under it the original wooden roof truss has survived. In the 18th century the church was thoroughly rebuilt and the shape of the windows and the entrance portal was changed then.
The interior has a hall layout, a flat wooden ceiling and a brick floor. On the gallery above the entrance stands an organ by the Szczecin organ builder Barnim Grüneberg of 1894, opus 360. The instrument is in a very poor condition and cannot be played (as of 2023). By the altar stands an octagonal font dated 1876. The church was blessed as a Catholic one in 1945, and the patronal feast is held on 26 August.
Next to the church lies a former cemetery, established around the second half of the 16th century, with old trees and a boulder with a plaque in honour of the villagers who fell in the First World War. A little further on stands the Church of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles in Bagna.
