Parish church in Stare Czarnowo from the 16th century, rebuilt in 1826, with a wooden tower set into the body.
The Church of Our Lady, Help of Christians in Stare Czarnowo was built of brick in the 16th century, on the site of an earlier church destroyed by fire in 1531. Its present form was given by the neo-Gothic rebuilding of 1826.
The building stands on a rectangular plan. On the east side it is closed by a brick, three-sided chancel supported by buttresses, and a sacristy was added to it on the south side. The portal and windows are stepped and pointed. A wooden, boarded tower with an octagonal helmet covered with sheet metal and with clock faces is set into the western part of the nave.
The nave is covered by a wooden ceiling, and above the chancel is a rib vault. The image of Our Lady, Help of Christians and the stained-glass windows with Saints Peter and Paul are modern. During the Second World War the church served as a warehouse. It was blessed as a Catholic church on 25 March 1946, and the parish was established in 1951.
Nearby lies the Cistercian abbey in Kołbacz.
