Seaside parish church in Rewal of 1976-1978 with a heart-shaped outline, with part of a late medieval triptych from Trzęsacz.
The Church of the Most Holy Saviour in Rewal was built in 1976-1978 on the site of a former small chapel set up in a fishing shed. It is the seat of a parish established in 1982 by Bishop Kazimierz Majdański. Earlier the seat of the parish was in Karnice.
The designer of the church is the architect Zbigniew Abrahamowicz. The oval of the walls and the structure of the roof are meant to resemble a heart, and the intersection of the heart-shaped outline of the interior with the heart of the roof is to symbolise the meeting of man with God. The stained glass and the external reinforcement were designed and made by Bolesław Szulc of Pszczyna, who also designed the metalwork decoration of the interior. Because of the limited plot a large choir with an amphitheatre profile was added. The church can hold 1500 people.
The church is adorned by the main part of the triptych from the church in Trzęsacz, with figures of the Virgin and Child and of the holy virgins Margaret, Catherine, Barbara and Dorothy. Not all elements of the altar are original. The church was built by the in-house method, from donations of parishioners and holidaymakers, and during construction there was not a single day's break in worship.
