Granite church of the second half of the 13th century, rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style in 1898-1900, with a Baroque pulpit altar.
The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Cedynia is a granite building of the second half of the 13th century, rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic spirit in 1898-1900. Medieval portals and a Baroque pulpit altar of 1720 have survived in it.
The church was built of granite ashlar as a hall building on a rectangular plan measuring 20.8 by 13 metres, with a separate chancel at the east, a sacristy on the south and a tower at the west. In 1898-1900 it was thoroughly rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic spirit: the old tower gave way to a new one, the west facade and the upper walls of the sacristy were rebuilt, and all the windows were widened. In the north wall a stone portal with three steps has survived, today hidden under a Neo-Gothic porch, and a second such portal was bricked up. In the east wall of the chancel traces of three original pointed-arch windows can be seen.
On the west wall there is a gallery with an organ case from the 1720s and a sixteen-stop organ. A Baroque pulpit altar of 1720 has survived, whose pulpit basket was taken down and placed separately. In the porch under the tower hang two epitaphs of 1700 and 1774. The other furnishings come from the Neo-Gothic rebuilding at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The church was consecrated as a Catholic one in 1946.
Right next to it, about 200 metres away, stands the Cistercian nuns' convent in Cedynia.
About 300 metres from the church is the Regional Museum in Cedynia.
