A Late Gothic filial church in Rzepnowo, destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt in 1990.
The Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Rzepnowo is a Late Gothic fieldstone church, a filial church of the parish of St Otto in Pyrzyce. In the register name it appears as “dec. ruina”, but today it is not a ruin: after the destruction of 1945 it was rebuilt in 1990.
The church was built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries of undressed fieldstones, on a rectangular plan, with an eastern orientation. The nave is covered with a gabled roof. In the south wall the entrance portal is set in a pointed-arch niche, and the windows in the side and east walls have segmental arches. The gables have oculi, and the walls are plastered on the outside. A wooden tower with a pointed spire was added on the west in 1703; today it no longer exists.
In 1945, during the fighting, the church was destroyed: the roof with its timbers, the gables, the tower and part of the south wall disappeared completely, and the furnishings were lost too. It was rebuilt in 1990, and on 25 November 1990 Bishop Stanisław Stefanek blessed it. The interior is covered with a boarded ceiling, and on the west wall stands a modern wooden music gallery.
Nearest lies Pyrzyce, where, among others, stands the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and also the ruin of the church in Rokity.
