A church from 1737 in Wierzbięcin with a wooden tower added in 1759, a parish church since it was taken over by Catholics.
The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wierzbięcin, a village in Nowogard municipality, was built in 1737. It is a parish church, and in the heritage register it appears as a building in timber-frame construction.
It was built in the time of Pastor Schmidt, under the supervision of the Backhus family, on the site of an older church of St Anne that had existed since 1567. In 1759 a wooden, two-storey tower with an octagonal pointed spire was added. Catholics consecrated the church on 1 October 1946.
In 1993-1994 the half-timbered structure of the walls was replaced with masonry and the building was plastered, so today the timber framing is no longer visible. The ceiling is flat and boarded, and above the entrance stands a 19th-century, three-part gallery with an organ case. The original altar has not survived.
