A branch church from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries in Tychowo near Stargard, with an altar from 1736 and a Renaissance pulpit.
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Tychowo, a village in Stargard municipality, was built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries. It is a branch of the parish of St Maximilian Maria Kolbe in Krąpiel. It should not be confused with churches in other villages of the same name.
It was built of erratic boulders and brick. It is a hall church, ending on the east side with a chancel with a three-sided end. In the mid-19th century the windows were rebuilt, the original north portal was bricked up and the south one was altered to a pointed arch. At that time a tower with an octagonal helm roof with a lantern was also added on the west side, with a bell cast in 1853. The heritage register dates the church generally to the 15th century.
Inside survive a Baroque altar from 1736 with a painting of the Crucifixion and a scene of the Last Supper in the predella, and a Renaissance pulpit, partly altered in 1720. It was consecrated as a Catholic church in 1946.
The nearest larger historic monument is the Collegiate Church of St Mary, Queen of the World in Stargard.
