Neo-Gothic brick church in Stargard from the end of the 19th century to a design by L. Braatz, partly Polish Catholic since 1959, shortened by two bays in 1984.
The Church of the Transfiguration on ul. Nadbrzeżna in Stargard is a Neo-Gothic brick church from the end of the 19th century. Today it belongs to the Polish Catholic Church and is the seat of the dean of the Pomeranian-Greater Poland deanery.
The hall church was designed by L. Braatz. Until 1945 it belonged to the congregation of the Catholic Apostolic Church. At first the church had five bays; at the east it is closed by a five-sided chancel, above which rises an arcaded gable with a frieze and pinnacles.
The war spared the building, but until 1959 it deteriorated unused. In that year the east part was handed over to the Polish Catholics, and the west part to Pentecostals and Baptists. Its poor technical condition meant that in 1984 the two west bays were pulled down, and the church today has three bays. It was entered in the heritage register on 12 December 1996.
