A 15th-century parish church with a 42-metre tower from the 16th century, a Gothic crucifix and a polychrome tabernacle niche.
The Church of St Michael the Archangel in Poczernin, in Stargard municipality, was built in the 15th century of stone and brick. It is a parish church entered in the heritage register, distinguished by its tall stone tower.
The building is a hall church on a rectangular plan, closed on the east with five sides. In the 16th century a stone tower 42 metres high was added, which in 1850 was covered with a wooden spire. On the ground floor of the tower is a pointed portal with three steps, and the body is decorated with blind arches with openings of various shapes. Two more pointed portals are in the side walls, which each have three windows and stepped oculi.
The ceiling is boarded. The wooden gallery, pulpit and pews belong to the furnishings, and the pulpit balustrade dates from 1600. In the east wall there is a Gothic wall tabernacle in the form of a niche measuring 69 by 39 cm, closed with a double grille and a small wooden door, lined with wood and covered with polychrome. A 16th-century polychrome Gothic crucifix has also survived, with medallions of the Evangelists at the ends of the arms of the cross. After the war the church was consecrated as a Catholic church in August 1945.
About three kilometres further stands the church in Sowno, and the church in Przemocze is about four and a half kilometres away.
