Popiel Park

Stargard
About Popiel Park

Park of 1.56 ha on the Ina in the southern part of Stargard Old Town, with trees 100-200 years old.

Popiel Park lies in the southern part of the Old Town in Stargard, on the Ina River, and is part of Stargard's planty. To the north-west it neighbours Piast Park, to the south-east Jagiellonian Park.

The park covers 1.56 ha. It has 32 tree species aged from 100 to 200 years, most numerous being maple, sycamore, horse chestnut, pyramidal oak and American tulip tree. Near the Ice Tower stands a group of 15 sycamore-leaved plane trees.

Practical information

The park is part of the green belt along the former town walls. Closest, about 100 m away, is the Weavers' Tower, and it is a few hundred metres on foot to the market square with the town hall and the collegiate church.

From the park to the Pyrzyce Gate it is about 200 m, so a walk along the planty is easy to combine with a visit to the fortifications.
