Castle Park

Stargard
About Castle Park

Park of 2.61 ha on the Ina in Stargard, on the site of a former hillfort, behind the Białogłówka Tower.

Castle Park lies in the north-eastern part of the Old Town in Stargard, on the Ina River, and is part of Stargard's planty. To the west it borders Chrobry Park, to the south Jagiellonian Park.

It covers 2.61 ha on the site of a former hillfort, that is the oldest part of the town. It has 27 species of trees and shrubs, and the most numerous group is a stand of young Maximowicz poplars covering about sixty ares. There is no small architecture in the park. At its highest point, right behind the Białogłówka Tower, stands a monument set up on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Stargard branch of PTTK.

Practical information

About 100 m from the park stands the Mill Gate, and a further 100 m on the Wałowa Gate. The park combines well with a walk along the fortifications.
