Square in Nowe Miasto with pre-war and post-war buildings, the sculpture "Labirynt" and two churches.
Plac Zwycięstwa (Victory Square) lies in Szczecin in the Nowe Miasto housing estate, in the Śródmieście district. It has an irregular, roughly rectangular shape, and at the level of the Port Gate it turns into Plac Brama Portowa.
The square was partly destroyed during the Second World War, among others the building of the Towarzystwo Komunikacji Miejskiej (Urban Transport Society), bombed on 30 September 1941. Today pre-war tenement houses and buildings from the communist period stand side by side. An impressive tenement house on the corner of Krzywoustego Street and Wojska Polskiego Avenue survived, and in front of the bank building on Więckowskiego Street the sculpture "Labirynt" was placed in 1997. Two churches also stand by the square: the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St Adalbert's Church. The Port Gate is close by.
