A large heathland reserve on a former military training ground near Borne Sulinowo, with educational trails and a viewing tower.
The Diabelskie Pustacie floristic reserve covers 932.53 ha and lies in Borne Sulinowo municipality, 2 km north of Kłomino and 8 km south-south-east of Borne Sulinowo. It was established on 26 November 2008. It includes part of the Kłomino Heathlands (Wrzosowiska Kłomińskie), regarded as the largest in Poland and among the largest in Europe, which arose on the site of a former military training ground.
The aim of protection is the landscape of two outwash channels, the younger outwash channel and the Plitnica channel, together with kettle-hole depressions and hills in the nature of erosional remnants. The reserve lies in the Natura 2000 site Diabelskie Pustacie. It covers the land of the Borne Sulinowo and Czarnobór forest districts. According to the protection plan established in 2013, the area is under active protection.
A yellow hiking trail runs through the reserve. Two educational trails have also been laid out here: the Ladybird Loop (Pętla biedronki), 9.15 km long, and the Bee Loop (Pętla pszczoły), 5.35 km long. They can be followed on foot, by bike, and in winter also on skis. On the highest rise in the reserve, at 175 m above sea level, stands a wooden viewing tower. Next to the rise, by the road crossing the area of the reserve (the road itself is not part of the reserve), there is a parking place for cars.
