Forest reserve near Recz, known for spring flowering of ramsons, corydalis and lords-and-ladies.
Grądowe Zbocze is a forest nature reserve of 33.22 ha, 2 km north-east of the centre of Recz. The western edge of the reserve adjoins the Recz Pomorski railway stop. Besides forest, it also includes the grounds of an old cemetery.
The reserve was established in 1996 to protect a fertile deciduous forest and spring complexes together with valuable flora. It looks most striking in spring, when geophytes flower in masses. Growing here are ramsons, lords-and-ladies, three species of corydalis, asarabacca and violets. Also found here is the few-flowered garlic, which was brought from Central Asia at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Half a kilometre to the south-east runs the red Hetman Stefan Czarniecki Trail. The reserve lies in the Choszczno-Drawno Protected Landscape Area (D) and in two Natura 2000 areas.
