About Jezioro Czarnówek Nature Reserve

A water reserve of 11.88 ha with a lobelia lake, skirted on two sides by a green hiking trail.

The “Jezioro Czarnówek” nature reserve is a water reserve covering 11.88 ha, established on 12 July 1974, about 4.5 km north of Złocieniec. It covers a lobelia lake in the forest and is under strict protection.

What the reserve protects

Lake Czarnówek, also called Czarne Duże, lies in a depression of a subglacial trough in Drawsko Landscape Park. The aim of protection is above all relict plants: water lobelia, quillwort and shoreweed.

The trail beside the reserve

From the south and east the reserve is skirted by the marked green Terminal Moraine Hills Trail (Szlak Wzniesień Moreny Czołowej) from Złocieniec to Cieszyn. The same trail leads to the Torfowisko nad jeziorem Morzysław Mały reserve, 0.7 km to the north-east.

Practical information

  • The reserve lies on the east side of the road from Złocieniec to Siecino and Cieszyn, in Drawsko County.
  • Strict protection means that the lake is viewed from outside, from the trail. The rules of entry are set by the manager of the reserve.
