Bridge over the West Oder connecting the city centre with Łasztownia, rebuilt in 1959.
The Sobieski Long Bridge (Most Długi) connects the centre of Szczecin with Łasztownia across the West Oder. It is the first bridge in the city and today an important traffic crossing.
A wooden bridge with a passage for ships was built in 1283 to replace a ferry crossing. It was demolished in 1900, and on 8 May 1903 a modern drawbridge, known as the Hanseatic Bridge, was opened. It was blown up on 20 April 1945 by the retreating Wehrmacht. In 1947 a wooden footbridge was laid on the piers, and in 1959 the bridge was rebuilt to a design by Henryk Żółtawski. It could be raised until 2000, when it was welded shut during renovation.
