About Oder Valley Trail

Red long-distance trail from Mieszkowice through Cedynia and Chojna to Szczecin.

The Oder Valley Trail (Szlak Nadodrzański) is a red long-distance walking trail in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, about 144 km long. It runs from Mieszkowice through Cedynia, Chojna and Gryfino to Szczecin-Klucz, through the Myślibórz Lakeland, the Wełtyń Plain and the Beech Hills.

Three sections

The first, Mieszkowice-Chojna (68 km), leads through Cedynia Landscape Park: Stary Błeszyn, Gozdowice, Siekierki, Czcibor Hill with the monument to the 1000th anniversary of the Battle of Cedynia, and the Wrzosowiska Cedyńskie Nature Reserve. The second, Chojna-Gryfino (up to 112 km), leads along the Rurzyca valley, through Rurka, Lisie Pole and Nowe Czarnowo. The third, to Szczecin-Klucz, enters the Beech Hills, near Lake Piasecznik Duży and Bukowiec (149 m above sea level).

Along the route there are numerous viewpoints, erratic boulders and historic monuments. Around the middle of the trail, in Rynica, stands the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
