“Ding Dong, or Karma Strikes Back” is a marital farce by Marc Camoletti, staged at the Stargardzkie Centrum Kultury. Bernard Marcellin discovers that his wife is cheating on him and, instead of making a scene, invites her lover to dinner to give him an ultimatum.
The story unfolds in elegant Paris. In the apartment, a jealous husband, a frightened lover, a self-assured wife, “the not-the-one-who-should-be,” and a maid who knows more than she should all come together. One lie sets off a chain of others, and everyone is hiding something. The play asks whether fidelity can be traded as “compensation” and whether infidelity can save a marriage.
