“Classics Train – A Journey Around the World” is an interactive musical performance at the Stargardzkie Centrum Kultury. Its creators describe it as a journey rather than an ordinary concert. Audiences travel through stations of changing character, full of music, humour and surprises.
The route runs from the Balkans, through Asia and the Far East, where classical music meets operetta, to South America, and from there to the atmosphere of old Hollywood: musicals and film music. The next stop is Africa. On the return journey, operatic emotions return, along with Spain, Italy and France, and the finale takes place in Vienna.
Singers and dancers perform, and the orchestra serves as the train's crew. The programme also features a passenger, First Class Melomaniac, who knows the musical routes and helps blur the line between stage and audience. Music, dance, storytelling and humour form one whole.
