Frida. Collector from Westend

The play “Frida. Collector from Westend” tells the story of Frida Doering, the last lady of the house at Falkenwalder Straße 84 (now al. Wojska Polskiego 84). She was the wife of a grain merchant and a German bourgeois woman, and together with her husband Wilhelm she collected works of art: paintings, prints and sculptures, among them prints by Rembrandt. The most valuable pieces were kept in a vault beneath the villa.

Olga Adamska's production shows the lyrical side of Frida. The final moments in the villa on Westend bring back memories and images, both those framed on the walls and in the vault, and those preserved in the soul of the collector. The era of prewar Szczecin has come to an end, and the paintings have scattered across the world.
