The project “Trip Hop meets Orchestra” returns to Szczecin with a new repertoire. The orchestra will perform classics of trip hop and the Bristol sound, paying tribute to the 90s artists in a Bristol atmosphere. The program features music associated with names such as Massive Attack, Portishead, Björk, UNKLE, Hooverphonic, Lamb and Moby. Trip hop originated in Bristol and blends elements of hip-hop, electronica, dub and soul. It is known for slow tempos, heavy bass and a melancholic mood. The organizers want to present this aesthetic in a broader context by combining live string instruments with electronic rhythms and characteristic samples.
