The action of “Rose” takes place in the early 17th century in an isolated Protestant village. A mysterious soldier, played by Sandra Hüller, arrives there. The villagers initially view the newcomer with suspicion, but through hard work and impeccable piety, he earns their trust and becomes part of the community.
