Grupa Fest is a cabaret music group from Gliwice, founded in 2008 by Jakub Tomaszewski. The core of the band is a married couple: Jakub Tomaszewski, vocalist and instrumentalist, and Mirosława Tomaszewska, a backing vocalist. They are joined by their daughter Sabina. Jakub Tomaszewski writes most of the songs and monologues, composes many of the pieces, and has more than 30 years of artistic experience.
The band has released 5 albums, the first in 2010, and has recorded several music videos. The albums feature original songs in a schlager and dance style, mostly sung in Silesian dialect. The first music videos reached top spots on the TV chart Liście Śląskich Szlagierów (“Przed siebie”, “Niy ma jak u teścia”). Among their best-known songs is also “Ty moja mamo”. The songs can be heard on Silesian radio stations and on regional and national TV channels.
