The Most Beautiful Songs of Leonard Cohen

A concert of “The Most Beautiful Songs of Leonard Cohen”, a program of the Canadian artist's greatest works in Polish-language versions, including “Alleluja”, “Dance Me to the End of Love”, “In my Secret Life” and “I'm Your Man”. The arrangements are built on guitars and piano, with backing vocals, and the band has put together a carefully chosen repertoire.

The performers are Wrocław musicians forming the band Yanistan:

• Janusz Kasprowicz, leader of Projekt Volodia, who has hundreds of concerts on major stages across the country behind him, eight released albums, and collaborations with artists including actors Mirosław Baka and Stanisław Górka. He is a culture animator and the founder and director of festivals: the Włodzimierz Wysocki Festival “Wołodia pod Szczelińcem”, the Wrocław “Pieśniarze Niepokorni” Festival and “Lviv Days in Wrocław”, as well as artistic director of concerts, including the recurring “Night of Bards” during the Festival of Three Cultures in Włodawa.
• Stanisław Marinczenko, a multi-instrumentalist (guitars, piano, accordion, mandolin, harp) who performs in many genres, including literary song and Irish styles.
• Bogdan Bińczak, a musician from the traditional jazz scene who plays percussion and melodic instruments and sings backing and multi-part vocals.

According to listeners at the previous concert, Janusz Kasprowicz's voice was described as gravelly, Stanisław Marinczenko's vocals as soft, and the concert ended with encores.
