The Most Beautiful Songs of Leonard Cohen

The Centrum Kultury i Spotkań Europejskich in Białogard hosts a concert of songs by Leonard Cohen, the Canadian songwriter, on 14 November 2026 at 18:00. The pieces, including “Alleluja”, “Dance Me to the End of Love”, “In my Secret Life” and “I'm Your Man”, will be performed in Polish versions. The arrangements rely on guitars and piano, while atmospheric backing vocals aim to convey the original depth of the songs.

The performers are the Wrocław band Yanistan. Janusz Kasprowicz leads the group Projekt Volodia, has released eight albums, and has worked with actors Mirosław Baka and Stanisław Górka. He is also director of the festivals “Wołodia pod Szczelińcem” named after Włodzimierz Wysocki, “Pieśniarze Niepokorni” and “Lwowskie dni we Wrocławiu”, and artistic director of “Nocy Bardów” at the Festiwal Trzech Kultur in Włodawa.

Alongside him plays Stanisław Marinczenko, a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitars, piano, accordion, mandolin and harp, and who also works in Irish music. The third musician is Bogdan Bińczak, who comes from traditional jazz and plays percussion and melodic instruments, and also sings backing vocals.
