3 May Park in Stargard

Stargard
About 3 May Park in Stargard

A park of 4.64 ha in the centre of Stargard, laid out on the site of a former cemetery.

3 May Park covers 4.64 ha in the central part of Stargard, between Skarbowa, Bogusława IV, Barnima I and Wyszyńskiego streets. Formerly it was called 1 May Park, and earlier still Goethe-Park.

The former cemetery and trees

The park was created on the site of a former cemetery. The greenery consists of oaks, limes, elms, ashes and beeches, and the oldest specimens include a European white elm, a Gelrica poplar and a sycamore maple. Paths lead through the park, and inside it stand elements of small-scale architecture.

Nearby

South of the park stand the Stargard County Office and School Complex No. 1. It is not far from here to the old town walls: the Red Sea Tower lies about 300 m further on, and the Collegiate Church and the town hall are less than a kilometre away.
