Pyrzyce
About Brodogóry Nature Reserve

Reserve of xerothermic grasslands with feather grass and bellflowers, by the red Pyrzyce Land Trail.

The Brodogóry steppe reserve in Warnice municipality protects xerothermic grasslands, rare in Pomerania. It lies east of the village of Grędziec, about 8 km north-north-east of Pyrzyce, and Lake Miedwie stretches out above its surroundings.

Xerothermic grasslands

The reserve was established in 1957 on 9 hectares, and in 1978 it was reduced to its present 5.24 ha. It protects relict grassland communities with feather grass, St Bernard's lily and the Bolognese and Siberian bellflowers. It extends for about 1.4 km on the eastern side of the Stary Przylep - Wierzbno road and lies within Natura 2000 areas.

Practical information

  • Along the reserve runs the red Stanisław Janson Pyrzyce Land Trail (58 km, from Morzyczyn to Pyrzyce).
  • Check the rules for entering the reserve with its manager before your visit.
