Neo-Gothic Orthodox church in Barlinek, a former Protestant church from 1873, consecrated after renovation in 2021.
The Church of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Barlinek is an Orthodox parish church in the Szczecin deanery of the Diocese of Wrocław and Szczecin. The brick building in the neo-Gothic style from 1873 is entered in the heritage register.
The church was built in the 19th century as a Protestant church. In 1947 it was handed over to the Orthodox. Inside is a 19th-century iconostasis, brought by resettled people from Kijowiec.
The renovation began in 2016. After it was completed, the church was consecrated on 5 June 2021 by the Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland and the Archbishop of Wrocław and Szczecin. The entry in the heritage register dates from 2 April 2007.
Closest, about 200 metres from the church, is the Regional Museum in Barlinek.
A walk can be finished at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, about 300 metres further on.
