Gothic church of stone and brick from the 15th century in Strzyżno, without a tower, with a decorated east gable, a fragment of a painting and a piscina.
The Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Strzyżno is a Gothic branch church in Stargard municipality, in Stargard County. It belongs to the parish of the Holy Cross in Stargard and was built in the 15th century.
The church was built of stone and brick as a single-room hall without a tower, on a rectangular plan, under a gabled sheet-metal roof. In the east wall there is a pointed-arch, stepped window, and the gable is decorated with pinnacles and six articulated pointed-arch blind niches. Between the third and fourth niche a circular recess can be seen. Portals lead into the nave from the west and south.
In the south wall a fragment of a painting showing a cross inscribed in a circle has survived, and beside it a piscina. In the chancel, which is closed by a plain wall, there is a sacrament niche, on whose small door the Man of Sorrows is painted. After the war the church was consecrated as a Catholic church on 6 May 1948.
It is a few kilometres from here to the centre of Stargard, including to the Church of the Holy Cross, with which the parish is associated.
