A Gothic church from the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries in Raduń, with a Neo-Gothic tower and a 16th-century cemetery gate.

The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Raduń dates from the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries. The lower part was built of dressed granite, the upper of brick, and the east elevation is decorated with pointed recesses and brick masks.

Architecture

The east elevation has pointed recesses and windows in profiled brick surrounds decorated with masks. The south elevation is decorated with a Gothic profiled entrance portal. A Neo-Gothic tower was added in the second half of the 19th century, and a bell of 1643, 90 cm in diameter, hangs in it.

The church grounds and its fortunes

The church is surrounded by the area of a former cemetery with a 16th-century gate, decorated with brick ornament in the form of five turret-shaped pinnacles. Before 1945 it belonged to a Protestant parish, and it became a Catholic church on 20 July 1945. Of the former furnishings only the 19th-century choir gallery has survived.
