Brick church of 1837-1847 in the Golęcino-Gocław district, the third church in the history of the village, rebuilt after war damage.
The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help stands in the Golęcino-Gocław district of Szczecin. It is a brick building with a timber roof structure and a tower on the north side, counted among the historic churches of Szczecin.
Golęcino has had three churches in its history. The first, built probably after the Reformation of stone and timber, was destroyed in warfare and partly pulled down. The second, with a bell tower, was built in the second half of the 18th century. From 1837 efforts were made to build a third, which was built right next to the previous one in 1837-1847.
During the Second World War the building was seriously damaged, and it was rebuilt by Polish settlers. On 25 August 1946 it was consecrated as a Roman Catholic church. In 1973 a sacristy was added, and the present furnishings and the painting of the interior date from 1974. The stained glass was made to a design by Wiktor Ostrzołek.
The church inherited its dedication from a Catholic church, which no longer exists, on Robotnicza Street, which was run by the Oblates. A Diocesan Retreat House was eventually established at the former presbytery.
