Half-timbered church of 1717, formerly Protestant, built on the site of a 14th-century church.
The Church of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn (Matki Boskiej Ostrobramskiej) in Smardzko is a half-timbered church from the early 18th century, formerly Protestant, today a Roman Catholic branch church. It is a building of frame construction, built in 1717 on the site of a previous church that had existed since the 14th century. The heritage register dates it more broadly, to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, and entered it in 1965.
Smardzko (German Simmatzig) lies in Świdwin municipality. The manor park of the second half of the 19th century is entered in the heritage register. Earlier the whole palace and farm complex of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries was on the list. The village also had a railway halt.
In Świdwin, about 6 km from the village, stands the castle.
About 2 km from Smardzko lies Sława, with a similar former Protestant church dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary.
