Gothic church of the 14th century in the Jamno district of Koszalin, with a painted ceiling in Jamno motifs.
The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Jamno is a Gothic church of the 14th century in the youngest district of Koszalin. Its renovation was completed in 2018, and in 2020 the monument won the “Well-Kept Monument” competition.
Jamno was a village in the municipality of Będzino and only later became part of Koszalin. The single-nave church is the dominant feature of the district's layout and its oldest historic building. It was extended and rebuilt in 1737 and in the 19th century. A tower stands at the front. A good deal of 18th-century Baroque furnishing has survived, including the pulpit and the font.
The ceiling is decorated with polychromy of 1923-1927 in Jamno motifs, which resemble Kashubian motifs. This is the most characteristic element of the interior.
The parish obtained European Union funds for conservation work and for adapting the church for residents and tourists. The work lasted from January to October 2018. The tower and the organ were renovated, the font and the sculptures were restored, the roof covering was replaced and the roof truss was strengthened, and with the conservator's consent underfloor heating was installed. The church was reopened after renovation in December 2018. In the “Well-Kept Monument” competition in 2020 it received an award in the category of preserving historic value.
