Half-timbered branch church in Krągi with a wooden tower, in a village with a former training ground; in the heritage register since 1965.
The Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland in Krągi, entered in the heritage register under its former dedication to St Anthony, is a branch church of framed construction, formerly Protestant. It stands in Borne Sulinowo municipality, in a village not far from Lake Pile, on national road no. 20.
The Wikipedia entry on Krągi says that the church was built in 1891, while the heritage register dates it to the early 19th century. The register defines the technique as a Prussian wall (mur pruski), and Wikipedia describes the building as framed. On the west side stands a wooden tower topped with a pyramidal-needle spire. The church was entered in the heritage register in 1965.
In 1933 a Wehrmacht training ground was set up at the southern end of the village, occupied after the Second World War by the Soviet Army; today it is part of Borne Sulinowo. In 1946-1954 Krągi was the seat of the municipality.
