A brick church of 1852-1857 in the Rundbogenstil, built to the pattern of Stüler's Berlin church.
The Church of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles in Dębno is a monumental three-aisled building of red and clinker brick, erected in 1852-1857 in the Rundbogenstil, that is, the round-arch style. It stands on Plac Konstytucji 3 Maja and is entered in the heritage register. It was built as an Evangelical church, and since 1945 it has been a Catholic parish church run by the Salesians.
In 1845 the tower of the 13th-century church collapsed and the building was closed, and in 1852 demolition began. The new church was built to a ready-made pattern from St Matthew's Church in Berlin, by Friedrich August Stüler. Supervision was carried out by the Frankfurt architect Emil Flaminius, and the contractor was the Münchhoff firm from Myślibórz. The foundation stone was blessed on 15 October 1852, the consecration took place on 27 March 1855, and work on the tower lasted until 1857. Churches in Peitz and Bytów were built to the same pattern.
The church has a tall, four-storey tower on the east, topped with a lantern and a conical helm. Above the window of the third storey is a clock face, and the highest section has the form of a loggia with semicircular arcades on columns. The semicircular apse on the west is decorated with a row of deep oculi. Each of the three aisles has its own roof and its own portal.
The three aisles are separated by wooden galleries on clustered columns with Tuscan and Corinthian capitals. In the apse vault the Holy Trinity is painted, and on the walls of the side aisles Christ giving Communion and Our Lady the Advocate. The organ was made by the Berlin firm Lang und Dinse. The bells date from 1669 (L. Kockeritz of Szczecin) and 1794 (Jan Krzysztof Fischer of Chojna). After the war the church was consecrated as a Catholic one on 24 December 1945. In the vicinity stands the Church of St Anthony.
