A branch church in Węgorza from the turn of the 16th century, with a free-standing wooden tower from the 18th century.
The Church of St John the Baptist in Węgorza (Osina municipality, Goleniów county) was built at the turn of the 16th century. It is built of erratic boulders and brick, has the form of a rectangular hall church and belongs to the parish in Strzelewo.
The brick east gable with blind arcading was rebuilt in the 18th century. In the same century a free-standing, two-storey tower of wooden construction was added on the west side, boarded and topped with a pointed, octagonal spire. The windows and the portal in the south wall were rebuilt. In 1978 the outer walls were covered with rough-cast plaster. Inside, a choir gallery on the west wall and 19th-century pews have survived. The church was consecrated as a Catholic one on 1 September 1946.
In the area also stand the church in Strzelewo and the castle in Kościuszki.
