Branch church in Wierzbno from the 15th century, with a polychrome ceiling of 1738, a gallery with paintings of 1707 and a Renaissance font.
The Church of St Joseph in Wierzbno, in Warnice municipality, was built in the 15th century of stone. It is a branch of the parish of St Michael the Archangel in Stare Przylep and is entered in the heritage register. It became a Catholic church after the Second World War, when on 25 November 1946 it was blessed by Fr Hubert Mrzygłód.
The nave on a rectangular plan has a gable roof, and the east gable is decorated with pointed blind arches arranged in a pyramid. The windows were rebuilt in the 18th century. On the west side adjoins a stone-and-brick tower from the 17th century, decorated with blind arches and four pinnacles at the corners. Its baroque helmet with a lantern burned down after a lightning strike in the early 20th century.
On the west wall hangs a Renaissance wooden gallery with paintings of 1707 showing scenes from the life and death of Jesus. The ceiling is covered with polychromy by Johann Christian Thiessen of 1738: in the middle the Eye of Providence, above the altar Christ, above the gallery the Descent of the Holy Spirit, and at the sides scenes from the Old and New Testaments. The furnishings also include a Renaissance font and a partly incomplete baroque altar.
