Church of St Michael the Archangel in Biały Bór

The Church of St Michael the Archangel in Biały Bór was built in 1878 in the neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style. It stands on the site of a medieval church from the 15th century, which was pulled down in the 18th century. It was consecrated on 28 December of the same year in which it was completed.

The fortunes of the church

At first it was a branch church of the parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Koczała. After 1945 it belonged to the parish of St Lawrence in Brzezie. In 1974 it became a quasi-parish church, and from 1980 a parish church. This changed on 18 February 2001, when a new church dedicated to Our Lady Queen of Poland was consecrated. Since then the Church of St Michael has been an auxiliary church of the parish. The new church is described under the Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland.
