Half-timbered church in Motarzyn in Tychowo municipality, formerly Protestant, with a wooden gallery, brass candlesticks from 1611 and a bell from 1616.
The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in Motarzyn, a village in Tychowo municipality in Białogard County, about 8 km south of Tychowo. It is a former Protestant church, half-timbered, now a filial Roman Catholic church of the parish of St Peter and St Paul in Krosino.
The heritage register dates the church to the mid-18th century and describes it as Baroque, while the Wikipedia entry on the village gives the year 1663. The building is on a rectangular plan with a chancel closed on three sides, and on the west side it has a brick tower with a double-bulb spire. Inside are a wooden pulpit from the mid-18th century, a wooden organ gallery from the mid-17th century, two brass candlesticks from 1611 and a Gothic bell from 1616, cast by the Stargard bell-founder Karsted. The renovation of the church was carried out by a community committee at the village council.
In Białowąs, 6.7 km away, stands a palace, and in Tychowo the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians (6.1 km).
