Jagiellonian Park in Stargard

Stargard
About Jagiellonian Park in Stargard

A four-hectare park on the Ina River within the Stargard promenade gardens, with two natural monuments.

Jagiellonian Park lies in the eastern part of the Old Town in Stargard, on the Ina River. It covers 4.4 ha and forms part of the Stargard promenade gardens (planty). To the north it neighbours the Castle Park, and to the west the Popiel Park. It lies at an altitude of 19-20 m above sea level and is the lowest-lying park in the town.

Trees and water

Two natural monuments grow in the park: a pedunculate oak and a white willow. Beside them are a horse chestnut, a Canadian poplar, a Norway maple, a sycamore, an elm, a small-leaved lime, a black alder and a common ash. The bodies of water are home to, among others, sea trout, bream and pike. There are few land animals, because the town ring road runs close by.

Practical information

  • The park is part of the promenade gardens surrounding the Old Town, so it is close to the Pyrzyce Gate and the town hall.
  • The park is on the Ina River, near the Castle Park and the Popiel Park.
