About Jezioro Czarne nature reserve

A reserve with a dystrophic lake and bogs in the Goleniów Forest, with a walking and cycling trail around the lake.

The Jezioro Czarne nature reserve is a floristic reserve in Przybiernów municipality in Goleniów County, 1 km south of Lake Przybiernowskie and 2.5 km south-west of Przybiernów. It covers 39.99 ha: it includes Lake Czarne, of about 2.48 ha, and the surrounding bogs and forests. Swamps and waters together make up 81% of the area.

A dystrophic lake and the beaver

The reserve was established in 2008 on the initiative of Tomasz Szeszycki. The aim of protection is a dystrophic lake with bogs and tree stands on wet sites and the population of the European beaver. The area lies within the Natura 2000 sites “Ostoja Goleniowska” and “Puszcza Goleniowska”, on State Treasury land managed by the Rokita Forest District, and is under active protection.

Practical information

  • A trail 543 m long has been marked around the lake, intended for walkers and cyclists all year round, and in winter also for skiing.
  • It is worth checking access and the rules for moving around the reserve with the Rokita Forest District.
