A Gothic hospital chapel from the 14th century in Trzebiatów, since 1957 the church of a Greek Catholic parish.
St Gertrude's Chapel in Trzebiatów is a Gothic hospital chapel from the 14th century. Since 1957 it has been the church of a Greek Catholic parish dedicated to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
The chapel was founded by the Trzebiatów town council together with the hospital buildings. In the 17th century the adjoining buildings were pulled down, and the chapel itself was turned into a warehouse and a craft workshop. At the end of the 19th century its sacred function was restored: from 1898 it served as a funeral chapel of the municipal cemetery, and from 1925 as a chapel of the Roman Catholic Church. In 1957 it was handed to the Greek Catholic parish, which uses it to this day.
Trzebiatów has several medieval chapels. One of them is the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, located about 200 metres from St Gertrude's Chapel.
