A Gothic church from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, a ruin after 1945, being rebuilt by the parish in Kozielice since 2007.
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rokity is a Gothic church from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, turned into a ruin after 1945 and being rebuilt by the parish since 2007. It is a filial church of the parish of St Stanislaus the Bishop and Martyr in Kozielice.
The church stands on the village green, on the site of a former cemetery. It is a small hall building on a rectangular plan, of stone and brick, with buttresses by the nave. The gables are decorated with blind niches and pinnacles, and the west façade has a Late Gothic stepped portal with a semicircular head. The windows were rebuilt in the second half of the 17th century, but in the east wall the trace of a walled-up Gothic window can be seen. The heritage register gives the Gothic style and the dating to the early 16th century.
After the Reformation the church was Evangelical and belonged to the parish in Czarnowo. In 1713 a wooden tower with an octagonal spire was added on the west, which no longer exists. The furnishings from before 1945 included a Baroque pulpit altar, an inlaid font, pewter candlesticks and three bells from around 1500, 1695 and 1720. After the war the building stood unused, fell into ruin and was partly pulled down: the perimeter walls with the gables remained, without a ceiling or roof. In 1993 the ruin was handed over to the parish in Kozielice. In 2007 rebuilding began, to a design by an architect from Pyrzyce. The church in Kozielice is the parish church.
